09MAR2017 - The American Experience TV event 'The Great War' to Premier April 10, 11 and 12, 2017 and Finding the Lost Battalion Is There!
Manager of the Finding the Lost Battalion pages here on the USWW1CC site, Rob Laplander, has a part as a talking head in the upcoming American Experience TV event 'The Great War'. This 6-hour, 3-part series on America's entry and participation in WW1 will premier on April 10, 11, and 12 this year on PBS. The times scheduled are 9:00 EST/8:00 CST, but check your local listings for times and station. This series will be to America's part in WW1 as the Ken Burns series is to the Civil War. Robert and the Lost Battalion will be featured in episode 3. Additionally, on April 7th American Experience will be hosting a pre screening of the film and discussion panel at the WW1 Museum in Kansas City which Mr. Laplander will be apart of.
28FEB2018 - Finding the Lost Battalion Goes Live on the US WW1 Centennial Commission Website!
This morning the Finding the Lost Battalion pages on the US WW1 Centennial Commission website went live. The area is being managed by Mr. Robert J. Laplander, the world's leading authority on the Lost Battalion. He is also already a partner with the USWW1CC and runs the Doughboy MIA portion of the website as well. Mr. Laplander brings 20 years worth of Lost Battalion studies and information collecting to the site. Over the coming weeks watch for more and more information on the Lost Battalion to appear on the site and other exciting updates!
