There are just around 26 days left before the Round #2 submission deadline. Round #2 closes at midnight EST on January 15, 2018 (which is also MLK day!).
For anyone who was in ROUND #1 but did not receive a grant award, you are automatically entered in Round #2 and you do not have to pay a new entry fee in order to update your proposal.
We recommend that you go to the submittal portal, review and consider updating your documents.
Things we learned in Round #1 and want to share with you to help you make a more competitive application:
Every one of these projects is wonderful and deserving of an award
Most everyone submits compliant applications - and if they are not - we actually review them and give you a chance to make them right - so the mechanics of the submission are hard work, but not the thing that will differentiate your project.
Remember that the proposals will be reviewed by a jury. They are looking at many proposals from all over the country - and as stated above, every one of them is deserving of a grant award.
So ask yourself the following questions and answer them in the "Creative Narrative of your submission. Don't forget, you are trying to stand out and convince the jury that your project should be selected.
Q1: What makes our projects unique and special?
Q2: How does our project connect into the community and raise local, regional or national awareness about WWI and those who served?
Q3: Who all is involved in the project - Is here a broad coalition?
